Sockeye Supply Chain Continues Corporate Growth with Addition of Direct Sales Team
David Shobrook and Gaurav Chhabra Join Sockeye
Cupertino, Calif. (May 29, 2007) – Sockeye Supply Chain, a provider of supply chain software solutions, today announced the addition of a direct sales team to help further the company’s business growth and cultivate new business relationships. Joining the new sales team are David Shobrook, who will serve as East Coast sales director, and Gaurav Chhabra, who will serve as a field applications engineer. Sockeye has also added an inside sales department to increase the company’s market presence and increase lead generation.
Prior to joining Sockeye, Shobrook founded March Computer Systems, a software firm which developed, sold and installed sophisticated production control software for IBM mid-range hardware. At the time of its sale, March was recognized as one of the leading companies in its field, having built a reputation for high quality customer service. After the sale of March, Shobrook joined System Software Associates (SSA) in Europe as the sales manager in Finland, where he signed an $8 million new business deal, the largest in SSA Europe’s history and he also created the sales team in Europe. In his new role, Shobrook will work closely with Alan Deeter, Sockeye’s vice president of sales, to build the direct sales team on the East Coast, identify new business opportunities and configure and deploy solutions adapted to address customers’ supply chain needs.
Chhabra, a software engineer, worked for a number of technology companies prior to joining Sockeye, including Infosys and Roamware, Inc., where he designed, developed and implemented software for clients like DHL and AT&T. Before joining Sockeye’s sales team, Chhabra served as a professional services consultant for the company and was actively involved in product deployments at customer sites. In his new role, Chhabra will bring his knowledge of supply chain event management and product deployments to the customer base, helping the area sales managers to identify, qualify, manage and close new business in the region.
